Marwood Community Hall has had a lot of success attracting DIY wedding couples by offering them a comprehensive wedding package, where the hall and the grounds can be used to their full potential.

NB. Booking a date does not commit you to the booking but it does reserve the wedding date until such time as we can meet at the hall to discuss your  exact requirements. We have already taken a booking for June 2021, so please don't miss out on the date you want for you special day.


What do we offer?


A large camping field for guests to pitch up and enjoy the beautiful countryside around them

A fire pit to sit around at night and reminisce about love life, and taxes 

A football pitch to keep the younger and not so younger guests entertained and blow off some steam in between courses & ceremonies

An outdoor covered shelter to hide or be found in

A hard surface play area for a bouncy castle or five side football

A trim trail and traversing wall for the more adventurous youngsters

Outside seating at the hall for chilling out and soaking up some rays

Level access from a large car park straight into the hall

An entrance porch that can be dressed up to frame the way into your wedding venue



The hallway with a coat rack and three able and one disabled toilets and a cleaning cupboard for those inevitable spills.

The hall can accommodate 120 seated guests during the day and can hold 250 for the an evening. 

The hall can supply 120 table place settings, as well as chairs, however the tables are on the low side, so you may need to hire in your own, a post box for those pesky cards, lots of fairy lights to go across the hall to add to the atmosphere and of course space in the freezer for lovely, local Hockins ice cream.

The hall kitchen is, 5 star hygiene rated, and boasts an impressive array of kitchen equipment which can be used, instructions on the wall, or pop in and ask for Sam, she will be more than happy to show you around. All that we ask is that you and or your caterer return the hall, kitchen and the environment to us as you found it, we do take a £100 deposit to cover cleaning and or damage etc, this deposit is returned 14 days after the event if all is well.



The wedding venue hire as described above is £450 from Friday 3 pm to Sunday 5 pm, this allows sufficient time for you to set up and take down the event and for the hall to make good before returning the hall to the community on Monday morning at 9 am


Outside Caterers / Vendors / Suppliers

Deliveries can be made on the Friday for tables, chairs, caterers etc and collection the Monday after. We have had excellent feedback from the married couples so far regarding local suppliers so here are a couple to get you started.

Flowers can be by Fuss Pots to make the hall your own

Big Pot Kitchen can set up inside or outside the hall and serve your guests.

Fly Bar can provide a varied way of managing costs during, after the event at the wedding breakfast.
